Whip

I walked in on something that one might label unpleasant. I went over to Terri's house to bring her some chicken soup so she could relax a bit better. I knocked on the door, nobody answered, but I knew she was home. I let myself in since the door was unlocked.
In the living room I saw Terri being on the floor covered in whip wounds. Over her was Negative facing his head towards me as I entered.

Negative: What are you doing here Proximity?
Me: I could ask you the same question, what are you doing to Terri?
Negative: I can no longer rest in the shadows knowing that Savage is up to something.
Me: Who the hell is Savage?
Negative: Savage is the blood covered being that lies here on the ground.
Me: Terri is Savage? The being that you think is out to get you?

Terri was scared, in a hurdled position crying her eyes out. From her perspective I was just yelling, since she had no idea what Negative was saying.

Negative: I've had enough of its pathetic attempts to throw me off course.
Me: Will you look at Terri? I doubt a being out to get you would cry and hurdle up like this.
Negative: Perhaps, but I know it's Savage. Savage disappeared a few years ago and I had been unable to trace him until she moved into town.
Me: That could just be a coincidence.
Negative: I don't think so.

He prepared to whip Terri again with his tentacle. I threw myself in front of her making Negative hit me instead in the back.

Negative: What are you doing? Taking Savage's side?!
Me: It's not Savage!
Negative: Ungrateful human! Move away!

I threw my jacket in the air, to momentarily distract him. I know it was a dumb move, but it worked. I managed to at least flee with Terri behind the house.
We ran across several gardens. At one point I even had to carry her, because she didn't have strength to carry on. We managed to get to Dan's place.
He wasn't home. No one was home and we seem to be safe from The Negative, at least for a little while.
